During IVF we can choose the gender of the child and avoid hereditary diseases.

Often during the IVF procedure, determining the sex of the child is not just the wish of the parents, but the opportunity to endure and give birth to a healthy baby without hereditary diseases associated with the gender.
The sex of the child depends on what genetic material gets into the egg from the sperm. After fertilization, the fusion of sets of two chromosomes occurs. Genetic information is laid in the early stages of fetal development, which causes the birth of a child of one or the other gender.
Select the gender of the child with IVF is possible, because fertilization occurs outside the uterine cavity. If, during physiological conception, the embryo forms in the fallopian tubes, and then descends into the uterine cavity and is attached to its wall, then with in vitro fertilization, the embryos undergo initial development in the "test tube" under the appropriate regimes that imitate conditions of the female body.
VittoriaVita offers clients, if necessary, to conduct pre-implantation genetic diagnosis. PGD is the selection of embryos without a hereditary pathology outside the uterine cavity. In this case, a biopsy of one blastomer is performed in the stage of fragmentation and a careful study of the genetic material under a microscope. If hereditary diseases are transmitted on the maternal line, then a biopsy of the polar bodies of the egg before fertilization is possible.
Since the genetic material is taken to the examination of PGD, it becomes possible to determine the gender of the future child. This possibility is secondary. The main task is to implant embryos that do not have hereditary pathology.
PGD justifies itself in the case when the family has diseases linked to the gender. In such a situation, a careful selection of healthy embryos will be made, and their transfer  into the uterine cavity is carried out.
