Basic methods of prenatal diagnosis
There’s no doubts about the importance of
prenatal diagnosis. Thanks to modern and progressive methods of research, it
became possible during the early stages of pregnancy to identify different
deviations in the development of the fetus, to take measures, in time, to diagnose
and treat a large number of diseases.
And most of the examinations are conducted
without harm to the health of the mother and child, and does not carry a threat
to normal pregnancy.
The main methods of prenatal diagnosis are now
conducted for every pregnant woman. And this does not mean the presence of
pathologies, because even the usual ultrasound examination also refers to one
of the types of diagnosis. A number of examinations allow us to assess how the
development process is taking place and to determine the gender of the child.
The last factor is of great importance in the
diagnosis of diseases, which can only be transferred to a particular gender of
the child. Thus, boys more often become carriers of hereditary diseases such as
Duchenne's disease, hemophilia, congenital adrenal hyperplasia.
Modern prenatal diagnosis is a diagnosis that
allows to identify the signs of diseases transmitted by inheritance, various
pathologies and defects at the stage of intrauterine development of the fetus.
Based on the received data, the doctor is able to picture the course of
pregnancy, makes a prediction, assesses the viability of the fetus. If
necessary, it is possible to provide timely neonatal care in the form of
special treatment.
