Couple from Germany underwent follicle puncture procedure

VittoriaVita’s doctors note that during performing artificial insemination, egg cells retrieval is one of the most important tasks. Puncture of follicles during IVF is the process of retrieving mature egg cells. This procedure uses a special hollow needle (Cannula). Obligatorily the control is carried out using a vaginal ultrasound sensor.
Recently a couple from Germany has already passed a puncture of follicles. The embryologist of VittoriaVita will fertilize the mother's egg cells with the father’s spermatozoa, then embryos will be transferred to the uterus of the surrogate mother by the IVF method.
It is important to note that the most commonly retrieved egg cells during puncture are 18-22 millimeters in size. The minimum allowable size is 10 mm. In rare cases, during puncture, only 1 follicle is retrieved, in which an egg cell can already be contained. Still the normal order in carrying out of artificial insemination requires material for the development of several embryos.
