Myths and truth about a baby diaper

On April 27, far back in the 1965 in the US, one of the most valuable inventions for young parents - diapers - was patented.

Since then, a lot of time has passed, diapers have improved, become much thinner, softer and easily absorb liquid, leaving the baby's skin dry for a longer period, but myths exist about them to this day.

1. Diapers are harmful to boys
Myth. There is a statement that such a subject of hygiene is undesirable for toddlers of male gender. Those who spread this, assure that the use of diapers raises the body temperature in the inguinal region of the child, which in the future can lead to infertility in future.
In fact, the seminal canals in boys are formed only by the age of seven. That is, even a slight increase in body temperature in the groin area can in no way affect this.

2. After regular use of diapers, the child will have crooked legs
Myth. Separeted legs of the baby in the sides - this is the physiological aspect. Orthopedists, on the contrary, advise spreading of the legs of babies and wide swaddling, which is the best prevention of hip dysplasia. Orthopedists also say that the use of modern diapers can not affect the shape of the legs in any way, because the curvature can be both hereditary and acquired due to certain diseases.

3. Diapers need to be changed frequently - you always won't get enough of them
True. The excretory system of the child is still imperfect, so he defecates and pisses very often. According to the instructions for using the diaper, it needs to be changed every three hours or depending on the filling. But when the child grows up, diapers will be used much less.

4. The diaper prevents the child from getting used to pot
Myth. The process of maturation of the excretory system and the ability to control one's desires in this matter in a baby usually occurs closer to two years. To disaccustom from diapers, it is enough for a child to allow him to spend some time in the day without him, gradually increasing this time.

5. Diapers affect on the health of the baby's skin
Myth. If you use diapers correctly, regularly conduct air baths for baby, change them in time, and choose the right size, then there should be no reaction to the baby's skin.
